This is a 150ml glass bottle of Key Lime Sweet Heat Fun! hot sauce made with Carolina Reaper.
What the Great Taste judges said: This has an allusive and attractive aroma with masses of fragrant lime in the mouth and a restrained level of sugar and heat which gradually builds and lingers in the mouth. It is a clear and simple product that does what it says on the description. We do however think that the syrup could have a thicker consistency.
A fruity, light molasses is enticing on the nose. It doesn't taste overly reduced or sugary. The key lime flavour coupled with the chilli brings a level of complexity on the palate. The mouthwatering acidity is moreish and it has a long finish. We can imagine a lot of uses for this product.
The Story Behind the Sauce
This sauce's ancestor was known as "Toad Sweat Key Lime Habanero Dessert Hot Sauce" - the original dessert hot sauce, created by Todd in 1997 to continue the joy and zest of the chilli pepper through the end of a meal. Consumers put the sauces on everything, so we've rebranded to reflect how people actually use them - Makes everything taste happy!
Don't fear the Reaper! It can be tamed. The quality of the Carolina Reaper often comes across as angry and fearsome. As one of our customers remarked during our summer of food festivals, our Reaper comes and greets you with a smile and a handshake instead of a punch. A gentle creep of warmth coats the tongue while not distracting from the other flavors in the sauce.

Originally developed to continue the joy and zest of the chili pepper through the end of a meal, these sauces are now made in the UK with a reformulated recipe featuring more juice while maintaining the beloved original flavor profile. Developed to complement desserts, they're equally at home in any meal from breakfast to midnight snacks and everywhere in between.
